Miles Moseley, our Managing Director, recently celebrated 21 years’ service ‘man and boy’ at Capel Court.
Miles started with the company in November 1987, initially as a Management Accountant. He fully qualified as a Certified Accountant (FCCA) in Septmeber 1994, following this up shortly thereafter with the Financial Planning Certificate, which qualified him to give financial advice.
He very soon progressed into investment management, and obtained the prestigious Investment Management Certificate in February 1997. Later that year he was appointed Investment Director.
Eight years later, in December 2005, Miles led a successful management buy-out of Capel Court, becoming Managing Director of the firm.
Miles said, “When I joined the company, we had no computers. Valuations were prepared on a typewriter and could take weeks; charts were drawn by hand. We had a small TV with Ceefax, and most research was obtained from written documents which could sometimes be weeks old.”
“Today we use technology to the full extent: real-time share prices, research and news stories are delivered to our screens via the internet. We will very soon be offering our clients remote access to their portfolios online, with up-to-date valuations.”
He added, “I am very pleased over the last 21 years to have been able to provide our clients with consistent, clear advice and guidance, with a high level of personal service. I am looking forward to continuing in this tradition and improving our service even more.”
